Artwork Requirements
To ensure your custom promotional products look their best, we require artwork files that meet specific guidelines. Providing proper files upfront helps us maintain quality, speed up production, and avoid unnecessary design adjustments. Please review the requirements below before submitting your artwork.
Preferred File Formats
For the best results, we recommend vector-based artwork:
- AI (Adobe Illustrator) – Preferred format (with fonts outlined).
- EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) – Must be saved with vector paths.
- PDF (High-Resolution, Editable) – Ensure text is outlined and images are embedded.
Why vector? Vector files can be scaled infinitely without losing quality, ensuring sharp, professional prints for embroidery, screen printing, DTG, DTF, and sublimation.
Acceptable Alternative Formats
If vector files are not available, we can sometimes work with high-resolution raster files:
- PNG (Transparent Background, 300 DPI or higher)
- JPG (High-Resolution, 300 DPI or higher)
- PSD (Adobe Photoshop, Layers Intact)
Please note: Raster files may require additional setup or redraw fees if they are not of high enough quality for production.
Resolution & Size Guidelines
- Minimum Resolution: 300 DPI at actual print size.
- Print Size: Submit artwork at the final size you’d like it printed (or larger).
- Bleed/Trim: Add at least 0.125” bleed on all sides for full-color designs.
Low-resolution images pulled from websites (72 DPI) are not usable for high-quality printing or embroidery.
Color Requirements
- Pantone (PMS) Colors: If you need exact color matching, please provide Pantone Solid Coated (PMS) values.
- CMYK vs. RGB: Files should be set up in CMYK for print accuracy. RGB is for web and may cause color shifts.
- Embroidery Threads: Colors are matched as closely as possible to your Pantone request, but slight variations may occur due to thread availability.
Fonts & Text
- Convert All Fonts to Outlines/Curves – This prevents font substitutions if we don’t have your font installed.
- Send Font Files if Needed – If your design requires editable text, include the font file(s).
- Minimum Font Size: For screen printing, we recommend at least 8 pt bold. For embroidery, avoid very fine text below 0.25” tall.
Artwork for Different Decoration Methods
Screen Printing
- Vector artwork strongly preferred.
- The maximum colors depend on the garment and press setup (usually 6–8 colors).
- Use solid, bold lines for best results.
Embroidery
- Vector artwork or high-resolution files required.
- Fine details, gradients, and small text may not reproduce well.
- Additional digitizing setup required (we can assist).
DTG / DTF Printing
- High-resolution raster files (300 DPI at print size) or vector files.
- Full-color designs and gradients are allowed.
- Transparent background PNGs are recommended for logos or designs with no background.
Sublimation
- Artwork must be in CMYK and sized to the actual product dimensions.
- Full-bleed designs require bleed edges.
- Works best on white or light-colored polyester products.
